Two third graders demonstrated an outstanding example of the kindness and generosity of our students. Two of our third grade boys operated a lemonade stand. They spent the day selling their delicious drink and earned $62.50. This in and of itself is impressive. But the story does not end there.
Instead of spending the money on themselves, they brought the envelope filled with the money with them to school on the following Monday. They told Ms. Pohly that they knew that there were people in our school and parish who needed the money much more than they did and asked my assistance in finding someone to give it to. We turned that money into a Giant Eagle gift card and gave it to a parish family to help them buy much-needed groceries.
We are so proud of these boys and the example of kindness and giving that inspires all of us to care for others.
