Our very first YEI Pitch Challenge Final was held on March2, 2020. Over the past two months, all students in grades K-8 were challengedto identify a “real world” problem, imagine a solution to that problem m anddevelop a 30—60 second “pitch” to sell their solution. Two to three finalistswere identified through classroom competition, and on Monday, those finalistspresented their pitches to the entire school , competing for 1st place in oneof 3 divisions: Grade K-2, Grades 3-5 and Grades 6 –7. 22 students competed infront of the entire student body, parents and a panel of 3 judges: Mrs. CindyGiulivo from Stony Haven Educational Consulting, Mrs. Reka Barabas from theYoung Entrepreneur Institute and Karyn Adams from Entercom Entertainment.
After the scoring was completed, the winners chosen were:
Michael Oriani (Kindergarten) - “Job Helper”
Mateo Paul (5th Grade) - “MPH Football”
Christiana Paul (7th Grade) - “Pet Portraits”
We are very proud of all of our finalists and the creativityand courage they demonstrated during their presentations. The skill that all ofour students learned and practiced during this project will serve them well inthe future.
