Project Linus

St. Anselm School celebrated Catholic Schools Week by doing what they like to do best, being of service to others. Students wanted our celebration to include an outreach project. The mission of this non-profit organization is to provide love, a sense of security, comfort and warmth to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans lovingly created by volunteer “blanketeers.” Students in grades K-8 spent a Monday morning becoming “blanketeers” and completed 26 blankets which will be donated to the local chapter of Project Linus. The students learned a lesson in crafting and collaboration, but more importantly about the joy of giving to others.
